FAQ and Policies

Spectrum Poultry's Policy

Purchasing Chicks

There is an 8 chick minimum for shipping orders. Two chick minimum for local pick up orders.

Shipping is $60.00 via USPS Priority Express 1-2 day delivery. All chicks are sold as straight run. When pick up chicks are purchased from us they will be looked over by myself and by you the buyer.  We ship chicks on Mondays-Thursdays.  All chicks will be sold healthy with no signs of illness.  We try to be as flexible as possible if you have special requests.  Chicks will hatch and ship from March-September.  Please pick up your chicks promptly from the post office when they arrive. We guarantee live arrival of shipped chicks (not including any extras we send out). We guarantee pick up chicks within the first 48 hours. If any chicks arrive deceased, please email us a picture of the chick with your order number. Spectrumpoultryri@gmail.com

We will issue you a credit or apply the credit, which holds the same value of the deceased chick, to a future purchase. We do not issue refunds or credits for shipping charges.  Typically orders for day old chicks can take 3-6 weeks, depending on the number of pending orders.

Purchasing Fertile Hatching Eggs

Shipping for 6-12 hatching eggs is a flat rate of $25.00 per box via USPS Priority 2-3 day delivery.

Shipping for 18-24 hatching eggs is a flat rate of $30.00 per box via USPS Priority 2-3 day delivery.

Spectrum Poultry ships hatching eggs out most days of the week. We often ship eggs the same day that they are collected. We try to get them out to you as soon as we possibly can.  We like to send out 1-2 extra eggs per dozen of the same breed ordered, as long as we have them available.

We package our hatching eggs securely using poly foam shippers to ensure the safest trip possible. This material helps ensure a safe travel. Our birds are healthy and produce nice strong eggs that ship out very well. We are pleased to say that many of our customers have reported great hatch rates.

Here at Spectrum Poultry, we test fertility via incubation.  Spectrum Poultry can not guarantee hatch rate/fertility after our eggs leave our care due to the many variables of shipping and incubation. (ex. fluctuation of temperatures, different incubation practices, USPS handling, etc)  We ship out as many hatching egg orders as we can per week . We need to reset our incubators every three weeks. Hatching egg orders may go on hold the week prior to setting our incubators, due to the fact that we are collecting eggs for chick orders.  Please only purchase hatching eggs from Spectrum Poultry if you understand our hatching eggs policy.  We always recommend purchasing live chicks from us if you want a guaranteed number of chicks.

*Due to high demand, there usually is a wait list when ordering hatching eggs.
